Ancestry Library Edition is a comprehensive online source of information for genealogical research, with billions of names in over 6,000 databases. You can access Ancestry Library Edition at the Nevada County Library in Prescott (library access only).

Search through census records; birth, marriage and death records; immigration records; vital and church records; military records; and court, land and probate records are included. Popular databases include the U.S. Federal Census from 1790 to 1930, Social Security Death Index, Civil War records, U.S. Public Records Index, American Genealogical-Biographical Index and Federal Slave Narratives.

WW I Presentation and Genealogy Tutorial

On October 24, at 5 P.M., Peggy Lloyd, Depot Museum board member, gave a talk on the impact of World War I in Nevada County and its aftermath at the Nevada County Library in Prescott. The talk will included a PowerPoint presentation and discussion of the exhibit.

In addition, Jackie King, a veteran journalist, delivered a tutorial featuring the fundamentals of exploring genealogy and how to do family history. She’ll guide you to free sources of information, free software, all with a particular emphasis on Arkansas and surrounding states.
